Review: House of Bread is a compulsive read. It charts 21-year-old Dan’s stay in Woodland Park Hospital, under section, in the late 1980s. As he struggles to come to terms with his diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, he makes good friends amongst the other patients, and finds love in what might be considered to be one of the unlikeliest places. Dan is a character that you can’t help but love, and this book is a must for anyone with an interest in mental health. Martine Daniel.
