In May 2006 Rethink launched A Cut Too Far, a compilation of the evidence we gathered from service users and carers about their experiences 'on the ground' of cuts to local mental health services.
After its publication, the Department of Health strongly rebutted the evidence, claiming that there was "no evidence" that mental health was disproportionately targeted compared to elsewhere in the health economy.
Yet still people have been contacting us to let us know more details of cuts that have come to light since the publication of our first report. This report is an update on the unacceptable situation.
