People with experience of mental distress face discrimination and prejudice every day. The Open Up project has produced a unique set of multimedia resources that support’s people helping them to come together and lead the way in taking positive action against discrimination - at work, in their local neighbourhood, from friends and family, or in the media.
The combined resources enable people with experience of mental distress who want to work with others locally to:
• build an understanding about discrimination and the best ways of tackling it
• harness inspiration and enthusiasm
• develop key skills and confidence as individuals and groups
• learn how to speak out and put messages across effectively
• come together and plan action

OPEN UP TRAINING PACK
The Training Pack will take you and your group through the first stages of taking a stand against discrimination and includes:
• the facts about discrimination and rights
• guidance on getting started and details on what works
• how to put an initiative together
• how to speak out and put messages across effectively
• developing and implementing an action plan
The Training Pack guides you step by step through running sessions or putting on a full 4 day course and includes all the materials you and participants will need. The approach and materials can easily be adapted to suit your circumstances, level of experience and the different needs of participants.
